Wedding Photography Horringer Suffolk
The Church of Saint Leonard Horringer Suffolk was the venue for the wedding ceremony of Kathy & Ian. This was my first location to visit to cover their wedding photography. After the ceremony their wedding venue for the reception was The Mill Hotel in Sudbury.
The church of Saint Leonard Horringer occupies a focal point of the village overlooking the village green and the entrance of Ickworth Park. It is an amazing building being over 1,000 years old, as can be seen below.
After photographing the church I went to Kathy’s mum’s house to cover the bridal preparations. Everyone was quite relaxed, for a wedding day! Everyone’s preparations were going well.
When I arrived Kathy had already got her hair done and was applying her make-up. After taking a few candid shots I left her to finish getting ready. Meanwhile I photographed all the details such as the Bride’s wedding bouquet, dress & shoes.
The weather was very changeable. However, we were able to do some portraits outside of Kathy and her bridal party. The garden was well sheltered and had high evergreen hedges, which makes the ideal backdrop.
Unknown to Kathy they had organised a surprise horse & carriage to take her to the church!
Unfortunately it was very late arriving so I had to depart for the church before it arrived. I saw it for the first time when Kathy arrived at the church. It was a magnificent horse pulling an elegant carriage. It was an open carriage, which unfortunately was let down by the British weather!
At the church Ian was already there looking very smart in his RAF uniform. The first guests had started to arrive. By the time the Bridesmaids arrived everyone was already in the church. It was just as well as the weather broke and it started to rain…
…luckily everyone was well prepared and there were some large umbrellas to keep the Bride & Groom dry!
