Bridal details
Winter weddings have gained in popularity over recent years and for very good reasons.
There are real savings to be made. Many wedding venues and wedding services offer discounts. Added to that, British winters have become milder over the last twenty years.
Here are three tips to help you get the best from your winter wedding photography.
Daylight
Daylight is of a premium with the nights drawing in early.
Make sure you have time with your wedding photographer during good daylight.
Either book your wedding ceremony early or meet your wedding photographer for an hour before the ceremony.
Some photographers also offer a next day shoot for a Trash The Dress session, which would be a lot of fun for everyone!
Winter weather
Weather can always be unpredictable. No where more so than the UK.
Check your wedding venue has facilities for indoor photography. This is especially important for your group photos. Many wedding venues have rooms that can be made available but some are less accommodating, so it is worth asking.
Is your photographer prepared for bad weather?
A good professional photographer will have the equipment and skills to ensure your wedding photos look great whether taken indoors or outside.
Ask your photographer how he/she will cope with bad weather.
With advancements in technology over the last few years it is possible to use camera flashguns on lighting stands and produce near studio lighting for your group wedding photos. For bride & groom photos a reflector and tripod will produce the most natural results.
Your photographer will also have a tripod that is an essential piece of equipment regardless of the lighting conditions.
