Few pictures from SWPP conference 2009

Here are a few pictures from the SWPP conference 2009 that have just been released on the SWPP website.  These are the official pictures taken by a guy going round each of the seminars and taking a few pictures before moving on to the next.

After being in the SWPP I start to recognise all the key guys that are top of the respective fields in the world – probably because I’ve trained under all of them.  Of course there are many photographers I’d like to train with in the future but its quite amazing to see them all in one place.SWPP 2009 conference

First here is Martin Graham-Dunn on the left who had just got back from running courses in Arizona in the print competition marking panel.  Don’t know if the guy on the right is trying to convince him to mark higher or is just pleased with a mark given to him :-)

I did the intensive wedding workout with Martin near his home in Spain.

Doug Gordon Doug Gordon

Doug Gordon back outside this year demonstrating how to pose the Bride & Groom.  After my seminar finished I went to his and was able to buy one of his training DVDs to compliment my flow posing cards.  Awesome DVD!  A great motivator and help keep things fresh.

This is Doug in demonstrating Bride & Groom posing at last years convention.

Mark Laurie

On the left is Mark Laurie also involved in marking prints.  He was attending the same seminar as me and was training afterwards in the evening.  I almost stayed for that but as I had been to an all day training seminar with him at Calumet in London just over a year ago I decided to give it a miss.  However it is from Mark that I got the idea for my main boudoir set.

Now we come on to the the guys running the seminar on glamour and boudoir:

Damien McGillicuddy Damien McGillicuddy

This is Damien McGillicuddy giving one of his presentations and then taking a picture at his first demonstration, which is when I arrived at the seminar.   This was a high-key fashion head portrait with butterfly lighting and white background.  The light modifier is Damien’s own design and in this configuration becomes a beauty dish for his flashgun.  The black reflectors either side are essential to get the 3-D effect and separate the subject from the background.

Faye & Trevor Yerbury Trevor Yerbury with model

Trevor & Faye Yerbury giving their initial presentation with a classic nude behind them that is typical of their style.  Later Trevor goes through some of his set ups for nude and boudoir using a single soft-box setup.

See my thoughts on the day’s glamour & nude seminar at the convention.
