Award winning photos as Suffolk photographer scoops a Silver award for Monochrome Photography.
I’m really pleased to get a Silver Award for this monochrome male figure work of Gareth as it was my first attempt to try something like this 🙂
In addition to posing Gareth lighting was key to the success of this image. I feathered the light to bring out all the tonal changes and the shape of the muscles.
When I came to photograph Gareth on his own things were getting a bit rushed the models had arrived late due to heavy traffic. And the other model Amber had commitments that evening back in Norwich.
However, we were still able to get a few nice photographs.
To give you an idea how rushed this was, Amber was holding the black backdrop in place in front of the white paper roll from previous shots!
Lighting was created using an open beauty dish to create a chiselled effect with the lighting.
