Vinage Glamour in a Modern Antique style.
OK perhaps not quite Audrey Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s. But with a black dress and a few accessories it is possible to create the beautiful vintage glamour style of the bygone age.
Here are a few fabulous images from a photo session the other week. We had a lot of fun doing this except when the cigarette fell out of its holder. Then we were frantically hunting around after the cigarette, which had rolled under the chair! Luckily no harm was done
I should mention that we don’t allow smoking in our home studio and I had the loan of another private studio for this photo shoot.
The classic 50s look is created using only a single light shone through a beauty dish reminiscent of that period. I use a beauty dish for almost all my studio photography. It gives a classic look that is different from your typical high street studio under sized soft boxes. The beauty dish is still in vogue today when it comes to contemporary fashion.
I’m a big believer in keeping lighting as simple as possible. It leads to more elegant and natural atmosphere. After the images have been retouched they are converted to black & white akin to film but with deep warm shadows.
Can you imagine how glamorous you would look if these were your pictures?
All you need is a dark coloured dress and a few accessories such as a hat, cigarette holder and of course some glitzy jewellery.
And leave the rest of the magic to me.
You will look amazing!
Vintage Glamour head and shoulders shot looks like it comes straight out of a classic movie.
As you can see we had a lot of fun playing around!
Can you imagine how elegant and classy you will look as well?
I love this. Annmarie looks so classy - just like she's been to Ascot

Pat, this is a lovely set, as are the woods ones. I better do Maam justice when we meet and shoot next year.
Thank you for nice comments Matt. Annmarie is great fun and I’m sure you’ll get some fabulous pictures too!
