Trash The Dress Ipswich Waterfront Suffolk
We conclude our in depth look at Charlotte and Pete’s wedding with their Next Day Shoot on the Ipswich Waterfront in Suffolk. This style of shoot is often referred to as Trash The Dress – although we did not trash Charlotte’s beautiful wedding dress.
I met the newly wed couple the morning after the wedding at the Salthouse Hotel on Ipswich Waterfront. They had to cut short their session, which only left us half an hour to play!
Luckily I had done a fashion shoot there for a model portfolio a few weeks before, so had a good idea of priority locations.
The Ipswich Waterfront has some great views with many new apartment blocks that have interesting architectural features. If you know where to look there are still a few walls left covered in graffiti, which are perfect for Trash The Dress and contemporary fashion. Unfortunately these are gradually disappearing and we did not have time to take advantage of them on this occasion.
Before you see the pictures let’s have a quick recap of the events so far. It all started at the Salthouse the day before with the bridal preparations. Then it was a mad rush to St Mary’s Church, a short distance out of Ipswich town centre, for their wedding ceremony. After the wedding ceremony we all went to Kersey Mill for their wedding reception and were incredibly lucky with the weather, which was a beautiful late summer’s afternoon.

Charlotte sits on the steps in front of the New University Suffolk. We didn't have sunglasses so I asked her to pose with her eyes closed to avoid squinting looking towards the sun.

The newly weds share a moment outside a cafe on Neptune Quay. But no time for a coffee!
