It’s been a while since I’ve done any commercial photography in a freelance capacity; however that changed today when I did a PR photo shoot for BT Community Connections. The main reason for not actively chasing commercial corporate work is simply that I was spreading myself too thin chasing too many lines of business. And I decided to focus on the boudoir and wedding photography.
I’m still not sure whether it’s ironic or poetic justice to do work for BT, albeit indirectly, after taking their redundancy package earlier this year. Either way I’m more than happy to do PR for them as a freelance photographer.
The public relations photo shoot was for the BT Communications Connections. This is an award scheme enabling local community and charities to get on-line with a BT laptop and free broadband for a year.
The award went to Bentley Village Hall where people can learn how to a PC and the Internet. Bentley Village Hall plays an active role in the local community through many activities. Their Internet connection is also seen as a way to allow community shopping, since the local shop closed down.
Today the main hall was a hive of activity with a bowls match. Indoor bowls is very popular and as you can see below, they are very competitive.
