Going the extra mile

Bride and groom taken on a wedding photography training course in Spain

Next month I’m going the extra mile with one to one wedding training in London. After chatting with Martin Graham-dunn, top International wedding photography trainer, I’ll be spending a day with him brushing up on my wedding photography skills.

As with any skill or feat of endurance you eventually reach a point where you hit the wall. And this is where I find myself with photography. Although I regularly achieve bronze and silver award levels across a broad spectrum of photography genres I’m falling short of the ultimate goal. The ultimate goal of giving you the very finest photography.

In the UK Martin specializes in helping professional photographers one to one and in very small groups. He also trains larger groups at his base in Spain as well as running regular courses in Denmark and across the USA. I was very fortunate to get a day next month as he was in Denmark last week and is then off the USA until early June. At the end of June he’s moving his UK base from London to the Midlands to be more accessible to photographers across the country.

The plan is to review some of my current work to see where there are areas of improvement. We’ll then cover some advanced topics in photography with lighting, posing and composition etc. In the afternoon I’ve booked an actress to model for me around London. Later we’ll post process a few images in detail. We’ll work through the whole process from visualization, creation to post production for the final picture.

I’m still waiting to see Martin’s detailed plan but that’s the basis for the training. If time allows Martin will also give some business guidance to help in our new economy.

The aim is to really drive my photography skills forward, creating better wedding photos for you.

I’m getting quite excited now and hope my photography will take a massive leap forward. And it’s perfect timing for this years summer weddings!
