Wedding workout in Spain
Martin my SWPP mentor has just released a video clip from the intensive wedding training workout I attended in Spain in June 2008. It was an incredible four day course that was almost 100% hands on photography training and the remaining waking hours were literally spent talking about photography exchanging ideas among the attendees!
The whole four days was videoed by three excellent videographers based in London that specialise in Asian weddings. One is also a photographer under Martin’s guidance who was preparing to go for his Associate qualification.
Anyway here are a few clips edited into a three minute out take. I only appear very briefly holding the veil of one of the model Brides, Lindsey. I’m the one on the right or her left
There is also a brief pose towards the end that someone picked up from me posing Nikki the day before and I picked up the idea else where. Guess there is nothing really new when it comes to posing as the best are all begged, stolen or borrowed – going right back to the great artists of centuries gone by who knew about posing and lighting

You can also see a few images selected from a 30 minute full wedding workout I did during the course at: http://www.patb-photography.co.uk/weddings/galleries/
Hopefully we will receive our copies of the full workout film soon so I will be able to share with you some footage of me in action under extreme pressure – even more pressure than a real wedding in many respects
More pictures and articles will come in due course. However there is so much information I want to get up here that it will appear over several weeks rather than days. We all learned so much in only a few days it is really quite remarkable. Looking on my wedding photography over this year since the course the marked improvements are clear to see and has greatly appreciated by all the couples that have benefited so far. Now the standards have been raised future couples will expect those same standards to be met, so the challenge for me now is not only to meet those standards but continually drive to improve them. I’ll stop rambling now that I’m starting to get philosophical except to say this is one of the challenges that motivates me and something I love about photography
