Suffolk Photographer scoops more Award Winning Photos. This time for Digital Art with his interpretation of Picasso’s classic Blue Nude.
I was delighted to achieve recognition for this nude photograph of Highly Commended in the last round of SWPP’s 2012 monthly competition. These competitions attract photographers internationally and only the finest pieces of art get recognised.
This was also my first attempt in the category of Digital Art.

Suffolk photographer is delighted to end 2012 with award winning photos.
I hadn’t entered any images for a while in the SWPP monthly photography competitions so decided to enter a few November, which was the last competition of the year.
Two images achieved recognition but this Gold Award for Event Photography was the best result. I took this photograph in the summer at Ipswich’s annual Music In the Park event at Christchurch Park.
The singer is from a local band called Dirty Addiction. He had a great presence on stage with charisma and mannerisms influenced by the great Axl Rose (singer of Guns N’ Roses) – he had a great voice too. I’ve captured that charisma and created a highly saturated image with strong contrast to portray his dynamics fronting the band on stage.

Suffolk photographer scoops two awards for Asian wedding photography.
The first is Highly Commended for avant-garde wedding photography. And the second received Highly Commended in SWPP’s Open Avant Garde category.
New for this year, The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers, SWPP, introduced new categories for Avant Garde art forms of photography. They’ve dropped categories such as contemporary wedding photography.
According to wikipedia avant-garde is experimental or innovative especially for art, culture and politics. Many consider avant-garde as the hallmark of modernism so is subtly different from contemporary photography.
Avant-Garde Open Photography - Highly Commended. The bridal party wait for the groom and family to arrive. He has to pay to enter after much bartering between the two groups.
Avant-Garde Wedding Photography - Highly Commended. The bridal party feed the groom as part of the wedding celebration ritual.
