Bride arrives at the church in the wedding car
It was a pleasure being Ruth & Tony’s wedding photographer on their wedding day. Ruth & Tony got married at St Mary the Virgin Church in Lawford near Manningtree Essex.
Before the ceremony I met Ruth for her bridal preparations at the Ramada Hotel at the Ardleigh Junction, Colchester, Essex. This was also their wedding reception venue.

I took this image on a recent private commission. But as it was not taken on a wedding commission it is not eligible for any of the wedding categories. Here is the SWPP definition: Click to continue…
I am delighted to achieve a Bronze award in this month’s SWPP competition for Contemporary Wedding Photography. Click to continue…
I am very pleased get a Bronze award with this reportage image that meets the SWPP definition for photojournalism wedding photography:
“Something which has had no intervention by the photographer. Not set up in any way at all. A natural moment which tells a story. Commissioned weddings only…”

Bronze Award for Photojournalism Wedding Photography
I usually covert my photojournalism / reportage images to black & white but felt the pink bridesmaids dresses make this better in colour.

Trash The Dress down by the river

Trash The Dress with Michelle down by the river
Last week Michelle had a “Trash The Dress” session. We went down by a river near where she lives in the heart of Suffolk. The large tree, which I guess is a Willow, made a great backdrop with its hollowed out trunk.
Unfortunately the weather soon got the better of us with the rain. We made a retreat as Michelle did not want to get the dress muddy.
However, we did not let the weather get the better of us for long. We returned later with Michelle sporting a summer dress that she did not mind getting wet or muddy. We then explored the area more thoroughly for photo possibilities around the tree as well as venturing into the freezing cold river…
See Michelle in the river trashing her summer dress.
