Bride arrives at the church in the wedding car
It was a pleasure being Ruth & Tony’s wedding photographer on their wedding day. Ruth & Tony got married at St Mary the Virgin Church in Lawford near Manningtree Essex.
Before the ceremony I met Ruth for her bridal preparations at the Ramada Hotel at the Ardleigh Junction, Colchester, Essex. This was also their wedding reception venue.

I am very pleased get a Bronze award with this reportage image that meets the SWPP definition for photojournalism wedding photography:
“Something which has had no intervention by the photographer. Not set up in any way at all. A natural moment which tells a story. Commissioned weddings only…”

Bronze Award for Photojournalism Wedding Photography
I usually covert my photojournalism / reportage images to black & white but felt the pink bridesmaids dresses make this better in colour.

Reportage Wedding Photography from Wantisden Valley Barns Suffolk
Lizzie & Tom got married last year in the church of John the Baptist in Campsea Ashe, Suffolk. Their wedding reception was held at Wantisden Valley Barns, Suffolk.
The church was idyllic for the wedding ceremony being historical with great architecture. The vicar was very accommodating for wedding photography allowing me access behind the altar during the service. After taking the usual photos from the back of the church I was able to go outside and quietly re-enter from another door situated at the other end of the church.
I am always respectful of any service and ministers wishes, so even when I am allowed this privilege image taking is kept to a bare minimum. And of course a flashgun is never used. In fact about the only time I use a flashgun is when the Bride & Groom walk up the aisle after the service.
Wantisden Valley Barns is a popular wedding reception ideally located only a few miles away from Woodbridge.
There are several buildings available for weddings, such as the 18th Century cottage with thatched roof, a mixing barn and the main barn. The main barn holds up to 300 guests and has a stunning marquee lining in the roof and wagon wheel chandeliers.
Lizzie & Tom hired the main barn for their reception. The main barn has a small garden area outside that is well maintained with flower bed boarders. The only downside is that there is no shelter from the sun outside. The hall inside is excellent for the evening with a stage area for a disco or live entertainment.
2011 Please note we no longer do wedding photography to allow time to specialise in Boudoir Photography For Brides.
