Last night I edited one image from last weekend’s boudoir photo session and just had to share this image with you. This boudoir photo is leaning towards the glamour end of the scale. The deep shadows make it very evocative and sensuous. She’s been posed to look sensational. Just a few red rose petals in her hand create a story behind the image.
It’s not every day I get excited when editing my images. If anything it’s oh if I did this or didn’t do that.
But this was different.
I just had to say “WOW” to myself after retouching. It was retouched using specialised software in Photoshop with; Katrina Eismann soft focus, and Kevin Kubota’s Portrait setup, Punch lite and edge burner.

Burlesque Photography in 50s Pin-up style
A reader recently asked me what burlesque photography was after seeing a few other boudoir photographers offering this service. Intrigued myself; I decided to do a little research especially as the other photographers did not appear to be offering any additional services.
The dictionary definition refers to burlesque in the theatrical sense with dramatic clothing worn by the performer in a comedy role with dancing usually leading to a striptease.
My interpretation of this in the sense of offering a burlesque photography service is that it is simply another form of boudoir photography. However, rather than wearing modern sexy lingerie as one might buy from Ann Summers your lingerie would be more dressy. Your lingerie will be lush and colourful – perhaps classical such as that worn in pin-up or vintage glamour. A few props such as a fan could complete the picture to create some beautifully seductive burlesque photos. I will take a series of images that could involve removing your garments to emulate a striptease – where you can be as tame or bold as you wish. And or course, I help you create poses intended to tease the recipient of this amazing gift.

On Monday I went on location with Miss T in Felixstowe for a glamour photo shoot. We had a great afternoon. Pictures may paint a thousand words but it won’t tell our story and some or the pros and cons we encountered.
