Silver Award for Fine Art Sensuous Nude – January 2009

It has been a fabulous month with being awarded four silver awards in the SWPP monthly competitions especially as this month seemed to be especially tough in the gradings. This silver award is for Fine Art photography of this sensuous anonymous nude portrait. I am delighted with this award as it was more experimental into abstraction creating a visusal design from the shapes and soft curves.

I was really pleased to get a Silver Award for this monochrome male figure work of Gareth as it was my first attempt to try something like this – hey there is a first time for everything :-) The key to the success of this image was feathering the light to bring out all the tonal changes and the shape of the muscles.
